Our dear friend, Corey

Hi! Today I want to tell you about a very special visitor who recently came to visit Peru with Peru Tourism. It is not a Hollywood star; he is someone who inspired us more, much more, really, let me tell you about him:

His name is Corey, a 33 years old young man from Australia. His aunt, his cousin and he came to visit the wonderful places Cusco city has, but especially Machu Picchu, and I was lucky enough to be their guide, well at least one of them!

But Corey did not only want to do the classic tour to the ancient citadel, he also wanted to climb the Wayna Picchu (the big mountain that is very close to Macchu Picchu, which always appears in postcards and pictures!) I told him from there you can see Machu Picchu citadel as if made of Lego! And warned him it was not going to be an easy journey and Corey said "Let's go, Kunaq, I can make it!"

Then we all walked to the edge of the mountain and Corey looked up, the Wayna Picchu is so big! it has a long and steep ladders to climb to up to the top as. You have to be brave like me to do it, but Corey was much braver because he encouraged himself to climb even though his body now needs a lot of extra energy. Corey has cancer, but he has decided to be strong and fight the challenges of life. So he stepped up, one step at a time until he arrived at the top of Wayna Picchu! And wow! He made us all very happy for his feat! He's a champion!

Recently, his aunt Kerry wrote to tell us that Corey has just returned home after a five-week trip through South America, Mexico and Cuba. While on his last trip he loved Iguazu Falls and saw some wonderful archaeological sites, for Corey Machu Pichu and in general his trip to Peru, gave him the strength to continue traveling and exploring the world.

All our customers who schedule their trip to Peru in Peru Tourism website and we welcomed very happily, they are all very important to us, but we not always have the good fortune to meet people as remarkable as Corey. I, Kunaq, taught him to walk around the Andes, but he taught us to walk through life with courage and spirit.
